Buford lands at Oklahoma

Dante Buford, one of the best available power forwards in the 2014 class, made his pick Thursday morning. He's headed to Oklahoma.

Dante Buford announced his college destination Thursday morning.

A 6-foot-7 power forward out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Arlington Country Day, committed to Oklahoma over South Carolina, Miami and a host of others.

"I felt very welcomed on my visit," Buford told Scout.com. "They really gave me a good feel of what it would be like on campus."

"The teammates and coaching staff treated my mother and I with great respect and I fell in love with the people there. I feel that coach [Lon] Kruger can bring out the best in me on and off the court."

Buford is a tremendous leaper and overall impressive athlete. He's mobile, runs the floor with ease and is an active rebounder. Offensively he's a capable finisher around the rim and has also developed his catch and shoot jump shot.

Oklahoma now has three commitments in their 2014 recruiting class. Buford, a three-star recruit, joins four-star center Khadeem Lattin and Jamuni McNeace to make up their current haul.

Buford is Scout.com's No. 28 power forward in the 2014 recruiting class.
