The pick is in for Travis

After a long and largely low key recruitment four-star power forward Reid Travis made his college decision on Friday.

Four-star power forward Reid Travis is one of the most impressive players in the class of 2014. His strength, athleticism, and desire made him one of the most productive prospects in the class, and led to a host of scholarship offers. At a press conference at his school on Friday Travis made his decision.

The 6-foot-7 and 240 pound Travis was down to Minnesota, Duke, and Stanford at the end, with most feeling it was only Stanford and Minnesota still in the picture. However for the understated Travis who didn't speak much to the media, there was a lot of intrigue as he took the podium to announce his commitment.

"I visited some great universities and programs, but in the end I needed a school that is a great fit for me," said Travis. "I cherish the opportunities this university will provide me to receive a great education and set myself up for the future on and off the court"

He went on to say, "I feel Stanford University is the best option I can choose. I chose Stanford because they were one of the earliest schools to show interest in my future."

This is a big commitment as Travis is the No. 7 power forward in the country and the No. 40 prospect overall. Travis now joins a pair of other four-star commitments in center Michael Humphrey and point guard Robert Cartwright.
