Rutgers nabs 2015 forward

The decision is in, and class of 2015 forward Leroy Butts will play in the Big Ten.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights continue to make the Washington D.C. area a home for their recruiting. The latest player from the area to issue his commitment is power forward LeRoy Butts.

"Yes I committed to Rutgers," said Butts. "I liked the campus, the team, and the atmosphere there. I know I am going to be a part of a team with a great coach."

Butts joins guard Austin Burnette in the class giving Rutgers a fast start to 2015 recruiting. For Butts this is big, as he is hoping to help bring Rutgers to the top of the Big Ten.

"It is pretty important to me," said Butts. "They haven't been noticed in a little while, and I think they should get recognized going forward. With Eddie Jordan there now there are great things in store for the future especially with my class coming in."

The 6-foot-7 Butts is a versatile power forward who really runs the floor well. He has very long arms and can score inside and from the mid-range with some solid footwork. He will need to continue to get stronger and develop his game on the outside so he doesn't have to consistently go against taller players, but for Butts the tools are there.

Look for Rutgers to look to continue to work hard in the Washington D.C. area, and try to secure some other top prospects in this class.
