Expect interest to rise for Haney

Zach Haney, a three-star big man out of Texas, has just three scholarship offers and has taken just one official visit.

This time of year available senior big men are always at a premium. Take a glance at the 2014 top 100 and you'll find just two post players uncommitted – Myles Turner & Jonah Bolden.

While not regarded as a top 100 player, one post player in Texas that should see his stock rise over the next few months is 6-foot-10 power forward Zach Haney.

A standout at Humble (Tex.) Atascocita, Haney has the tools to be an effective player at the collegiate level. At his size, he's equipped with impressive hands, touch and mobility.

"I'm just trying to fun the floor, [work on] my ball handling and I'm working on my outside shot and trying to get bigger," Haney recently told Scout.com.

In the summer playing with the Houston Defenders, Haney was successful facing the rim. The range on his jumper extends out to the three-point stripe, but he's also capable of hitting mid-range jumpers, as well as hooks on the block.

To date, Haney, Scout.com's No. 27 center in the 2014 class, has scholarship offers from Stephen F. Austin, UNC-Greensboro and Incarnate Word. Haney has officially visited UNC-Greensboro and has four remaining visits.

"I'm going to make my decision late," Haney told Scout.com.

Haney is regarded as a three-star prospect.
