2017 Intro: Billy Preston

2017 power forward Billy Preston is already drawing high major interest and it easy to see why at the City of Palms Classic this week.

One of the more impressive prospects at the City of Palms Classic this weekend was 2017 power forward Billy Preston.

Already a starter and a standout for Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, Preston, who checks in at 6-foot-8, 205-pounds, is impressive athletically, has a good-looking mid-range jump shot and runs the floor with ease.

"I'm more of a transition type of player," Preston said when asked to describe his game. "I can get up and down the floor. I can play some on the perimeter or in the low post. I can do everything. I'm an all around player."

Through three games Preston averaged 13 points and eight rebounds a game, including a game high of 21 points and 12 rebounds on opening night.

As you would expect, Preston has college showing interest in him already.

"I've had interest form a couple of schools," he told Scout.com. "I have an offer from USC. I have interest from many other schools like UCLA, Oregon State and others."

"I've always wanted to stay in the local area for college, but I'm not sure now," he added. "I might, but I might not. I'm just not sure right now."

Preston has yet to take any unofficial visits. He said he's undecided on who he will play AAU with this coming spring.
