Oak Hill tops Carroll to win CFA

Not surprisingly, Steve Smith's fabled Oak Hill Academy rolled through the Chick-Fil-A Classic field, defeating Archbishop Carroll 70-61 on Monday night.

N.C. State-bound forward Cody Martin captured the tournament MVP award, leading the winners with 18 points on a highly efficient 6-8 shooting. This has been a breakthrough season for Martin, who previously had been considered the lesser prospect between the twin brothers.

As for Caleb, he shot just 6-14 and struggled from the field in Columbia, but he did finish with 16 points to finish No. 2 for Oak Hill in scoring. The Warriors received interior help from Rokas Gustys, who as profiled over the weekend is auditioning for scholarship offers. His finale stats included 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Junior wing Derrick Jones certainly played to reputation at the event. Versus Oak Hill, he notched 19 points, six rebounds and three blocks on 8-14 shooting. He still needs to improve his jump shot and dribbling, but there's no disputing his length or athleticism.
