Xavier Lands Third Recruit

Thad Matta (pictured) isn't messing around with the Class of 2002. He's taken three commitments from forwards and he's not done as the Musketeers are in the hunt for a point guard. Meet Xavier's latest commitment.

Cole Is No. 3 For Xavier

Last week, Joe Chapman of the Illinois Wolverines committed and this week his running mate made a decision. Wolverines PF Brandon Cole selected Xavier.

"I committed to them on Thursday," Cole said. "I went down there for a visit and it seemed like the place for me. The new arena was great. It was the place for me." Cole had been receiving interest from Purdue, Marquette, Tulane and Dayton prior to his commitment.

"I think I fit in real well. They lose Kevin Frye and I could probably come in and possibly play right away. I met all-american candidate David West and they seemed like real down to earth cool guys."

Last year at Richton Park (IL) Rich South, Cole averaged 19.5 points and five rebounds.
