Towson, Hampton Add Recruits

Towson head coach Michael Hunt, entering his first season at the helm, landed a combo forward he hopes can help as the Tigers enter their first season in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Towson Lands Forward Late

Keon Blanks, a 6-6/215 combo forward, signed scholarship papers with Towson on Thursday. He'll be eligible to play this season.

"He's a guy who got hurt during the season at Carl Albert, went to Eastern Oklahoma his first year and played well there before transferring," Towson head coach Michael Hunt said. "He's very athletic – runs, jumps and dunks – and should help us in the Colonial."

In other Tiger news, sitting out this year is former Texas A&M starting point guard Jamal Gilchrist. He's originally from the Maryland-D.C. area and transferred to be closer to home.
Regionally, Hampton appears to have a commitment from Denmark (SC) Olar PF Troy Washington. The 6-7 power forward was a standout this summer with Team Carolina.
