Brown putting up big numbers

Bruce Brown is an athletic and tough guard who is putting up some big scoring games this year.

One of the best scorers in the class of 2016 in New England has to be Saxtons River (VT) Vermont Academy wing Bruce Brown. The highly athletic and tough Brown is putting up big numbers this year and is seeing offers come in.

At the Hoop Dreams Mag Prep Classic, Brown was very impressive, scoring in bunches. Overall he feels his season is off to a good start.

"I have been playing very well," said Brown. "I had a big game against Tilton, and my coach told me it was a coming out party. I had 37 against Terrance (Mann), my AAU teammate, so that felt good."

He continued, "I have been shooting the ball better. I've been working with my coach on shooting in the gym and it paid off because I know last year I would never be hitting these shots."

So far Brown has racked up a few offers with other schools beginning to take a closer look.

"I have been hearing from VCU, and I have offers from Boston College and Manhattan," said Brown.

For Brown getting an offer from Boston College was big, as he has followed the program for a while.

"I know a lot about BC," noted Brown. "I am from Boston and growing up they were the team I always watched. My oldest sister used to always take me to their games. I really like BC a lot."

Also the offer from VCU is a big one. Brown says he really likes the coaching staff at the Atlantic 10 school.

"I don't know a lot about VCU, but I love Shaka Smart," said Brown. "When we talk he is critical of my game and tells me where I can get better, so I like him a lot."

For now Brown is focused on continuing his impressive sophomore season and hopes to see even more offers come his way.
