2016 Intro: Juan Munoz

Cary (N.C.) Panther Creek standout Juan Munoz is having a great sophomore season. What sticks out about his game? His high school coach breaks it down.

Juan Munoz is a 2016 point guard to keep an eye.

Cary (N.C.) Panther Creek coach L.J. Hepp said his 6-foot, 155-pound sophomore is off to a great start this season.

"Juan is special in terms of his basketball IQ and his feel for the game," Hepp explained. "He's really, really special. He's an incredible passer. He can keep guys off balance. He's really shifty with the ball and changes speeds and directions so well."

"He does so many things that are so hard to teach and coach," Hepp added. "For as young as he is really understands the game."

Munoz is currently averaging 16 points and seven assists a game.

"What sets him apart is his feel and ability to run the show," Hepp said. "With that said, he can score the ball. He's scoring 16 points a game."

At this stage, Munoz doesn't have any scholarship offers.

"He really hasn't had a ton of interest because he's a sophomore and he's not a 6-7 stud," Hepp said.

"People that are around him think he can play at a high level," he added. "I guess we'll see this summer."

Munoz played with Garner Road last spring and summer and is expected to play with them again this coming spring.
