Murray shows versatility

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- One of the more intriguing junior west coast prospects at the Hoop Hall Classic was 6-foot-4 wiry wing Dejounte Murray.

One of the more intriguing prospects coming out of the Hoop Hall Classic was 6-foot-4 wiry wing Dejounte Murray, of Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach.

A versatile wing prospect, Murray is a pretty good athlete with good speed. He is a good passer with good vision, can make an open jump shot and has a lot of potential on the defensive end.

Murray also impressed with his ability to rebound from the wing position.

"It's natural," Murray responded when asked about his ability to rebound. "I've always been a player that does everything on the court."

In Rainier Beach's game against Arlington (Va.) Bishop O'Connell at the Hoop Hall Classic, Murray filled the stat sheet scoring seven points, grabbing seven rebounds and tossing out five assists.

Murray currently has scholarship offers from Gonzaga, Washington, California, Washington State and Oregon. Murray also cited Arizona as showing strong interest in him.

"Arizona is highly interested in me," Murray pointed out. "Damon Stoudamire came down to Rainier Beach three times and we have had good talks and have a good bond."

To date, Murray has taken unofficial visits to Gonzaga and Washington.
