As a sophomore at Corona (Calif.) Eleanor Roosevelt, Simon's only scholarship offer was from UC Irvine. Now as a junior, Simon holds offers from a number of west coast powers.
"I would never have thought I'd be in this position with everybody coming after me," Simon told Scout.com.
"Really it's a dream come true," he added. "I'm just getting used to it. Everything is coming at me pretty fast. I'm just enjoying it and being humble and focusing on my high school basketball team. We have one goal and one purpose."
Simon currently has scholarship offers from Arizona, UCLA, New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, Santa Clara, San Diego State, USC, Oregon and others. He also has strong interest from Kansas, Connecticut, Louisville and Texas.
"Really I'm at the point where I'm starting to evaluate my list as games are coming," Simon said about the recruiting process. "I'm watching a lot of college basketball."
"Really my AAU coach, coach Sunny and my mom and my dad do a great job of helping talk to the coaches and communicate with me," he added. "We are evaluating my list and I'm probably going to cut it down to 10 soon."
Which schools are recruiting Simon the hardest?
"Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas and UCLA," he said. "They are all coming at me pretty hard. I'm really enjoying this process."
Simon recently stopped by UCLA for an unofficial visit. He said he likes the direction Steve Alford has the Bruins going.
"That was amazing," he said. "Coach Alford has a great staff. They have a great college atmosphere. He's really turned that program around and they are doing some things this year and they are bringing in guys every year."
"It's all about relationships and the right fit," Simon said. "They are building relationships as we go. Everything is good and that's a great staff. I love that staff."
The next visit for Simon, who has also taken trips to New Mexico, San Diego State, USC, Penn State and Santa Clara, is to Arizona on March 2nd for their match up with Stanford. Simon said he likes how Damon Stoudamire has recruited him.
"Coach Stoudamire recruited me the right way," Simon said. "Their atmosphere is second to none on the west coast and number one in the country is a big deal and they recruit great guys."
Simon, who is currently regarded as a four-star recruit, doesn't have any other scheduled visits.
