Myles Turner has been nothing if not methodical in operating his recruitment. From an initial huge list, to merely a very big one last summer, and then down to single digit schools, Turner is moving toward his ultimate choice.
The latest is that one school that had been considered an afterthought, Texas A&M, will receive an unofficial visit this weekend. Both the Aggies and SMU have recovered in a sense with some recent activity, though neither can be considered a frontrunner.
Meanwhile, according to numerous media reports and confirmed by Turner on his Twitter account, he will visit Duke officially for the Blue Devils' rematch against North Carolina the weekend of March 8. That weekend, the Devils also are expected to host junior big man Chase Jeter.
Most have considered Duke a longshot to sign Turner, given the presence of Jahlil Okafor already in the recruiting class. But the fact that the Devils will get him on campus — and particularly for their most anticipated home game of the season — gives them at least a puncher's chance.
