Thompson picks Purdue

Purdue snags its fifth commitment in the 2014 class with P.J. Thompson

It didn't take long for P.J. Thompson to know where he wanted to go. The 5-foot-11 floor general got his offer from Purdue, and roughly 24 hours he pulled the trigger and picked the Big Ten school.

"I committed to Purdue!!" said Thompson via text message only a day after making it clear that Purdue was his leader.

The writing had been on the wall for a few weeks with Purdue stepping up the interest in Thompson and him making visits to the school. Once his academics checked out, the offer came, and Thompson knew he wanted to be a Boilermaker.

"It was the perfect fit," said Thompson. "I have a great relationship with the staff and they showed that they needed and wanted me."

Purdue now has five commitments in the class. Thompson, a three-star floor general, is joined by fellow three-star pledges Vince Edwards, Jacquil Taylor and Dakota Mathias, as well as four-star center Isaac Haas.
