Farrell picks Notre Dame

Notre Dame needed depth in the backcourt and they have added a 2014 guard from New Jersey to their class.

In his time at Notre Dame, Mike Brey has consistently had effective guard play. He is hoping to keep it that way by loading up on bodies on the perimeter in the 2014 class with the latest being Matt Farrell.

According to numerous sources close to the situation, Farrell selected the Irish on Tuesday night. The commitment came only a day after receiving an offer from the ACC school.

Farrell is a very good shooter who can handle both backcourt spots. He had solid showings over the summer on the AAU circuit, and saw his stock explode as he finished a very strong senior season.

This is the third commitment for the Irish in the class of 2014. Farrell joins three-star power forward Bonzie Colson and four-star center Martin Geben in what is a solid class for Notre Dame.
