Cunningham to decide after season

2014 forward Josh Cunningham has a handful of high major scholarship offers and is planning to make his college decision shortly after the season.

The recruiting process is starting to wind down for 6-foot-7, 195-pound power forward Josh Cunningham.

A 2014 recruit out of Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park, Cunningham currently has scholarship offers from Creighton, Bradley, Indiana, Minnesota, South Carolina, Iowa State and Oklahoma. All seven of those schools have offered him a scholarship.

"It's going pretty good right now," Cunningham said about his recruitment. "Every school is coming at me hard right now and it's getting kind of late in the process."

"I took official visits to Oklahoma, Creighton, Bradley and I took an official visit to Iowa State too," he added.

Cunningham is planning to take his fifth official visit, but he doesn't have any details yet.

"I think I might take my last visit but I'm not sure yet," Cunningham said. "I'm not sure which school it'll be yet."

At this point, Cunningham doesn't have a date or timetable for a decision, but he does plan to wait until his senior season ends.

"All I know right now is that after the season I'm going to sit down with my mother and Nick [Irvin] and talk it over," Cunningham said. "Then I'll go from there."

Cunningham and Morgan Park won their Class 3A section semi-final on Tuesday. Cunningham scored 14 points in the 25-point win over Rich East.

A long, wiry combo forward, Cunningham runs the floor well and is an impressive athlete. The three-star prospect also impresses with his ability to make jump shots off the catch to 22-feet.
