"The high school year was good," said Evans. "We had our ups and downs, but we managed to come out with a win and bring home a state championship."
Speed, playmaking, and a high motor have been a staple for Evans throughout his career, and now he is working to be more well-rounded with his game.
"I have definitely been working on my jump shot," explained Evans. "I am working on getting that better and more consistent."
Recruiting wise, Evans says that three schools are showing him the most interest right now.
He continued, "I had a chance to visit Baylor. Baylor and I have a good relationship. I had a good trip down there, and I like the coaching staff."
Illinois has put in a lot of work to make Evans a priority, and he says he has built a good relationship with the staff.
"Illinois and I have a great relationship," explained Evans. "I talk to them a lot, and me and Coach (Jamall) Walker have a real good bond."
Also Texas has picked things up, and with a strong year on the floor, Evans is really taking notice of the Longhorns.
"Texas has a point guard who does what I do in Isiah Taylor, and he is a lot like me, so I have been watching how they use him," explained Evans.
Though he now lives in Dallas, Evans is from South Carolina, and says he is open to playing in any part of the country. He is looking for a combination of good athletics and strong academics for his decision.
