"I just wanted to narrow it down because the recruiting process is stressful," Thomas told Scout.com." I felt like I have the best relationship with these 10 schools. I could see myself going there."
"I'm going to continue to build relationship with them and see who stands out the most to get it down to five towards the end of the summer," Thomas added. "That's the goal. Get it down to five and take all five official visits."
Of the ten schools on his list, Thomas said he's taken unofficial visits to Memphis, Texas, SMU and Oklahoma State. His latest trip was to Memphis on March 8th for their final home game of the season.
"It was fun," Thomas said about his trip to Memphis. "I learned a lot about the program. I learned about the pros that are still around and they work really hard."
Thomas said he doesn't have any other unofficial visits planned, but did say that he expects Illinois to come by for an in-home visit in the near future.
Although he's narrowed his list some, Thomas, a 6-foot-9, 250-pound big man, isn't thinking about making his college choice in the near future.
"I guess it depends," he said. "Whenever I feel like I'm ready, I'll make a decision. Right now I don't have a time frame."
Thomas is currently ranked No. 12 overall in the 2015 recruiting class.
