Source: Stewart asks for release

According to a source, Elijah Stewart asked Loyola Marymount for a release from his Letter of Intent.

Elijah Stewart, a 6-foot-5 lengthy wing out of Winchester (Calif.) High, was a steal for LMU and Max Good.

But after Good's firing, Stewart began to rethink his status with LMU. After meeting with new coach Mike Dunlap, Stewart decided on Thursday to ask for a release from his Letter of Intent, a source told

Stewart was under-recruited the first time around and when he gets his release will likely have virtually every school in the PAC-12 knocking down his door.

Stewart's senior season at Westchester was nothing short of spectacular. He is an impressive scorer from mid-range out to the three-point stripe. Stewart is also an impressive athlete that has potential as a wing defender.

Behind Stewart, Westchester finished 30-7 on the season and made it all the way to the CIF Open Division Regional Final.
