Allen is running with Texas PRO this summer, and after a strong high school season he is ready to emerge on the national scale.
"I had a pretty good high school year," said Allen. "I averaged around 10 rebounds per game, and I want to improve on that."
He continued, "This spring and summer I plan on really working on my post moves, my mid-range jumper, and I definitely plan to get bigger and stronger."
Recruiting wise Allen is just now getting started, and some of the Big XII powers are in the mix as well as a few other regional schools.
Allen lives near the University of Texas, and says it has been good to have them at his games watching.
"It feels good to hear from Texas," noted Allen. "It is a great school and it is close to home, but I know I still have a lot to work on."
Also Allen picked up a pair of offers recently from SMU and Kansas State. Both of them meant a lot to him.
"It felt good to get those offers," said Allen. "Those are both great programs, and to know my hard work is paying off means a lot."
Playing up on the 17-and under level for Texas PRO, Allen is someone who will have a chance to really explode during the spring.
