Major interest in Ellenson

Henry Ellenson looks quicker and more athletic than in the past, and his game is significantly better because of it.

Center Henry Ellenson is very skilled for a 6-foot-10 and 240 pound post prospect. The Rice Lake (Wisc.) native showed off his ability to shoot from outside as well as score in the mid-range at the NY2LA Swish N Dish, and that has him being courted by a lot of major programs.

After slimming down, getting quicker and more athletic, and growing a little bit, Ellenson feels that his junior high school year was a success.

"It was a great season, the best one I have had. It was a lot of fun, and I think I did a great job this year," said Ellenson. "All of my teammates also played well, it was a fun year."

Recruiting wise Ellenson has a long list of schools showing him significant attention.

"I am hearing from Northwestern, Wisconsin, Creighton, Iowa, Michigan State, a lot of the Big Ten," said Ellenson. "Also Iowa State and Baylor, there are a whole bunch of schools."

He continued, "I took a visit to Northwestern and also I took a visit to Wisconsin."

The Wisconsin Badgers have traditionally done an excellent job of keeping the top in-state talent home, and Ellenson enjoyed his visit to Madison.

"The trip to Wisconsin was good," said Ellenson. "They had a big win against Michigan State, and it was good to get down there and see the crowd. I hadn't been down there for a long time, so it was good to see the game."

Also first year Head Coach Chris Collins at Northwestern has done a good job of building a relationship with Ellenson.

"It is a really nice coaching staff," said Ellenson of Northwestern. "It was good to talk to those guys and it was a good time down there. I really enjoyed myself."

For now Ellenson is in no hurry to make any kind of decision, and says that he would like to make visits in the fall before issuing a commitment.
