Hemsley Drawing Plenty Of Interest

Jeremy Hemsley, a top 2015 guard prospect from the West Coast, says two Pac-12 programs are recruiting him the hardest...

Jeremy Hemsley, 6-4 JR SG La Verne (Calif.) Damien, is one of the elite prospects in the west for 2015. A very good athlete with above average ball skills, Hemsley is adept at attacking the rim and finishing against size. A good passer with very good vision, Hemsley has a terrific approach to the game. He's an adequate jump shooter at this time with a very high upside.

I spoke with Hemsley recently and asked about the programs that are recruiting him.

"Oregon, UNLV, USC, Washington and Arizona State are the main ones right now," said Hemsley.

When asked which schools are recruiting him the hardest, Hemsley replied, "Right now, I'd say Washington and Oregon."

I asked Hemsley what he is looking for in a school.

"A family type atmosphere where I know the coaches care about me as a person and can get me better as a player," said Hemsley. "The location doesn't really matter."

I asked if early playing time is an issue for him. "Yeah, that's a big deal," said Hemsley. "But I want to earn it. I don't want to the coaches to just give it to me." Hemsley said he plans on choosing a school prior to his senior season.
