Durham attracting major attention

Florida native Juwan Durham is attracting major interest on the recruiting trail.

At the Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest, Juwan Durham showed his significant potential. At every bit of 6-foot-10, and maybe taller, Durham has the athleticism and mobility to be a big time prospect. With that college coaches are really taking notice of what he can do.

"I'm hoping to show that I have improved my jump shot and my ball handling, and also prove that I have gotten stronger around the rim," said Durham of what he is out to prove.

He continued, "I think my game is coming along well. I feel I have more confidence in my shooting and that I have gotten a little bit stronger as well."

Recruiting wise things are going well for Durham. He has some of the nation's top programs showing him significant attention.

"The main schools are Florida, Louisville, USF, Florida State, and there are a lot of others," noted Durham. "Also a few others have offered like Indiana, Tennessee, Texas Tech, and a few others have talked to me like Duke."

Florida is one school that has been very active recruiting Durham, and Durham likes what the Gators have to say.

"I think they have a real good team, and that is the type of program I have always dreamed of playing for," said Durham. "Also they have a good coaching staff and I like how they use their bigs."

Another school that has been down quite often to check in on Durham is Louisville, and the Cardinals have made an early impression.

"Louisville is a real good school and they came down to see me during the season a few times," said Durham. "I like the way they play."

At this point Duke hasn't offered Durham, but he says that the Blue Devils are now showing more interest.

"I heard from them early last week and one of their assistants came to watch me work out, so the contact has just started," explained Durham.

For now Durham is in no rush to pick a school, but he does know what he will be looking for in a program.

"I am looking for a school with very good academics and a good basketball team that will help me improve as a player," said Durham.
