McLaughlin decommits from Oregon State

With the dismissal of Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson, 2016 shooting guard JaQuori McLaughlin has backed off his pledge to the Beavers.

On Monday, Oregon State dismissed head coach Craig Robinson and it led to some immediate shakeup with the Beavers' committed prospects.

JaQuori McLaughlin, a 6-foot-3, 165-pound shooting guard from Gig Harbor (Wash.) Peninsula, has decommitted from Oregon State, Peninsula head coach Jake Jackson informed Scout.com.

The 2016 prospect will take things slow this time around.

"JaQuori was one of the first players in the 2016 class to commit due to his strong relationship to Craig Robinson," Jackson said. "The McLaughlins have known Craig for many years."

"Now that Coach was let go, JaQuori is re-opening his recruitment to find the perfect fit. He's looking for a school that can fulfill his academic goals along with an up-tempo style of play where he can come in and be an impact player as a freshman."

Jackson listed Oregon, Harvard, Memphis, Gonzaga, Washington State and Boise State as schools that have shown interest in McLaughlin.
