"It has been a great spring," said Brunk. "We have gotten better as a team, and I definitely have gotten better as a player."
About the offer from Iowa, Brunk said, "It meant a lot to get that offer. I went up there during the fall of my freshman year and I knew I needed to get better if I wanted to play there. I have worked hard at it and it is nice to know they feel I have gotten better and that my hard work is paying off."
Xavier has been recruiting Brunk since he was a freshman, and he likes the Musketeers style of play.
"It is a great program and they like to get the ball inside, and obviously I like when the ball goes inside," said Brunk. "They have a good tradition and they are a competitive team. I was glad they offered."
Also recently Brunk made an unofficial visit to Butler, and he came away impressed with what he saw.
"I visited with Coach (Kyle) Simpson and my family and had a lot of fun," said Brunk of the trip. "I saw the new facilities and the renovations. It was a lot of fun to see. Butler plays the right way, they are a fun team to watch, and it was a lot of fun."
Also a trip to Purdue is in the plans for this week.
"Coach (Matt) Painter likes that I am a back to the basket player," explained Brunk. "They are a great program who throws the ball inside and they play in the Big Ten which is a great league so I like that."
For now Brunk is in no hurry with his recruitment and is gaining all the information that he can before seriously considering making a decision.
