Major options for Boatwright

Bennie Boatwright shined with Gamepoint Elite during the adidas Gauntlet.

Four-star power forward Bennie Boatwright is playing with a new team, and he made a big impact at the adidas Gauntlet event in Indianapolis. Boatwright showed off his big time skill with Gamepoint Basketball, and recruiting is going well for him.

"The spring has been going well," explained Boatwright. "I am plying with a new team and it has been fun playing with real good guards."

At around 6-foot-8 and 210 pounds, Boatwright is at his best as a pick and pop power forward. He is hoping to improve his versatility, but right now he is elite as a catch and shoot stretch four. With that recruiting is going well.

"I am hearing from Arizona State, California, UConn, Kansas, and Arizona," said Boatwright.

Boatwright is now an AAU teammate of Arizona pledge Justin Simon, and Simon along with the Arizona staff are working in this recruitment.

"Justin tells me all the time how Arizona is a family atmosphere and he really likes it there, and that he wants me to join him," said Boatwright.

Another school that has really picked up the pace is California. New Head Coach Cuonzo Martin has made Boatwright a priority in the 2015 class.

"The new staff are real good people," explained Boatwright. "I talk to them all the time and I am really considering them."

For now Boatwright says that he has no visits set up, though he is hoping to make some trips before issuing his commitment.

At the moment Boatwright says he is focused on a few things in order to help himself get better and see his recruitment pick up.

"I just want to continue to work on my versatility and also get stronger," said Boatwright.
