Pritzl picks Badgers

One of the breakout stars of the spring was Brevin Pritzl. He racked up numerous scholarship offers, but the in-state pull was too much.

In May Brevin Pritzl showed major improvement. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard proved himself as more than a shooter, and that led to numerous scholarship offers from some of the top schools in the country.

After a big time showing at the Spiece Run N Slam, Pritzl racked up offers from Creighton, Xavier, Marquette, Wisconsin, and others to go along with a host of mid-major offers.

However in the end the De Pere (Wisc) native decided that he wanted to stay close to home and be a Wisconsin Badger.

"He feels that Wisconsin is a good fit for him," said AAU Coach Ritchie Davis. "His older brother just finished playing at a division II school in Michigan, and being close to home that was a part of it. He wanted his parents to be able to see him play and be home where they didn't have to travel so much."

Along with distance, Davis says that Pirtzl felt he was just an excellent fit in what Bo Ryan likes to do.

"He has been down there a few times and he knows the guys and just felt comfortable with how things are in Madison," said Davis. "I think he feels he just fits in really well with what they do and how they run their offense."

This is a big pick up for the Badgers as Pritzl is very likely to find himself in the top 100 when the rankings are updated, and comfortably so. Also it marks a major in-state recruiting victory for a premium player.
