Sampson taking time
It's been a national recruiting process so far for Brandon Sampson, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard out of Baton Rouge (La.) Madison Prep. The 2015 prospect has one of the highest upsides out of all the wings in his class with his size, length, athleticism and ability to create his own shot. "I can score and create for others," Sampson said. "I'm working on my on the ball defense and rebounding." Sampson is using this summer's AAU circuit to help further prove his name nationally. "When I go out of town I try to my best against other ranked players to try and get my ranking higher," he said. "Where I'm from we don't get a lot of publicity so I try to get out and do the best I can." Sampson listed LSU, Arizona, Texas A&M, Saint John's, Mississippi State and Georgetown as the schools recruiting him the hardest, but has no favorites at this point. "I'm wide open right now," he said. There are schools recruiting Sampson from all over the country and he's willing to leave home for college. "I'll play anywhere," said Sampson. "I'm just trying to make the best decision I can. I'm just looking for the best decision for me; somewhere I can get a good education." There's no rush for Sampson to get his recruitment over with. "I think I'll wait until the late signing period of my senior year," he said.
