"I think it has been fun playing in the EYBL this spring," said Ellenson. "I feel I have gotten a lot better playing against good competition and more athleticism. Everything is just quicker, and I think I have gotten better each session."
Standing 6-foot-10 and around 230 pounds with guard skills as well as nice touch on the inside, Ellenson has received some major offers recently. The three schools who threw their name into the mix in the last week were UCLA, Duke, and North Carolina.
For Ellenson it is exciting times to have those schools join what was an already impressive offer list.
"It has been fun having the coaches call you and recruit you, it has been a lot of fun," said Ellenson.
North Carolina is really looking for a big guy in the 2015 class, and now they are beginning to turn up the heat on Ellenson.
"It is real nice to get an offer from North Carolina," said Ellenson. "Roy Williams has been up to Rice Lake a few times. He says he likes my game and my versatility, and we are going to continue to build our relationship throughout the summer."
Duke also recently offered, and Ellenson was quite happy to get that offer.
"It is good to hear from Coach K," noted Ellenson. "He is the coach of Team USA, and to have him come to Rice Lake and talk with him was very good and I was happy to get that offer."
While Duke and North Carolina have been in the mix for a while, the UCLA offer was a bit more sudden for Ellenson.
"It was the first time I talked with Coach (Steve) Alford," said Ellenson. "He said he saw me in Sacramento and that I was playing well lately, and he talked about the past history at UCLA with big men like Kevin Love. So he was telling me how their bigs can stretch the floor."
For now Ellenson is in no hurry to make a decision and says that no visits are planned for the future.
