Ahmad talks recent visits

Forward Esa Ahmad has had a tremendous spring, and he continues to make unofficial visits.

Four-star forward Esa Ahmad has been quite busy this spring. Not only has he led All-Ohio Red to one of the top seeds in the Peach Jam, but Ahmad has also been taking several unofficial visits. Recently Ahmad hit up a Big Ten and Big XII school to check things out.

Most recently Ahmad made an unofficial visit to West Virginia. The Mountaineers have been recruiting the 6-foot-7 forward as hard as anybody, and Ahmad says the trip went well.

"Morgantown is a great place, and Coach Bob Huggins is one of the great coaches," said Ahmad. "They showed me around the facilities and it was a real good time."

Just before that trip, Ahmad went to Maryland to check things out in College Park. Like West Virginia, Maryland has been heavily involved with Ahmad for a while.

"I got to see the Comcast Center and they took me around campus, showed me the dorms, and told me the plans they had," said Ahmad. "It was a real nice visit."

He continued about his relationship with the Maryland coaches, "Me and Coach (Dustin) Clark talk almost every other day. I am starting to talk with Coach Turgeon more and it was a real fun visit."

Nothing specific visit wise is planned for the future, but Ahmad knows that he and his family will check out a few other schools in the near future.

"I don't have a visits planned right now, but in the next month or so I will probably see Michigan and Michigan State, and I am also hoping to get to Indiana and Wisconsin," noted Ahmad.

For now there is no specific timetable in place to make a commitment, but Ahmad does know what the next step will be in his recruitment.

"Probably in the next month or two I will narrow down my list and then go from there," explained Ahmad.
