Griffin a sleeper in 2017

LaDarien Griffin is a big sleeper out of Florida. Here's an intro to his game and recruitment. watched Griffin in EYBL and provided the following evaluation:

Griffin doesn't get a ton of scoring opportunities but the 6-foot-7 athlete has ridiculous length, plays hard, defends, fights for boards and finishes around the basket. He says he's grown a few inches in the last year and he's a kid just scratching the surface of his potential if he keeps growing and/or adds to his skill level. Griffin still being at the beginning of his physical and skill development can make evaluating him difficult, but his upside is glaring.

The fact that Griffin is still growing could make getting a complete evaluation of him right now difficult.

"I've grown three inches in the last year," Griffin said.

He uses his physical tools to his advantage on both sides of the ball.

"I defend well; I try to be a lockdown defender," he said. "I rebound and finish around the basket. I'm working on my all-around offensive game."

Griffin listed offers from UNF, Brown, Florida Gulf Coast and Texas Tech with interest from Yale, Florida State, Cornell and Harvard.

Academics will play a role in his decision.

"I'd like to go somewhere with stability," he said. "I'd like to go to a great school where I can learn."
