Minnesota and head coach Richard Pitino have targeted Virginia Beach (VA.) Cape Henry junior small forward Chris Clarke for awhile now, but recently got him up on campus for an unofficial visit. He recaps how his visit went and how seeing the Golden Gopher was a shining moment for him.
"The visit went well," Clarke told GopherDigest. "I couldn't see the coaches because of the dead period, but it was still a good visit. I toured the east side of the campus and my favorite part of my visit was seeing the Golden Gopher. The statue in itself I mean and I liked it so much because it just looked real cool and sweet."
The 6-5, 190-pound forward is the No. 20 ranked small forward in the nation and a four star recruit, who holds offers from Creighton, East Carolina, Iowa State, Kansas State, Maryland, Minnesota, Old Dominion, Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia Tech. While, Clarke didn't get to do and see everything he might have liked to do, he still gave high remarks on his trip to Minneapolis."I would rate my visit a 7 out 10 only because I didn't get to see the facilities and stuff," said Clarke. "I will probably visit again and I am interested in Minnesota. I don't have a top list. If I commit there, I promise I'll work my hardest to be the best Gopher to ever play."
