'Cats after top-100 target Juwan Morgan

Northwestern plans to pursue another top-100 target.

Still fighting, still ambitious, Northwestern will gun for yet another Scout.com top-100 player.

Assistant coach Patrick Baldwin—an expert in the Missouri area—began recruiting 6-foot-7 Waynesville (Mo.) power forward Juwan Morgan. Morgan will play with the MoKan Elite AAU program this summer.

Morgan holds offers from schools including Creighton, Vanderbilt and Xavier with other interest from Arkansas and Indiana.

Still, he'd be a necessary cog for the Wildcats, who need immediate frontcourt help for the 2015 class, especially for Alex Olah's senior season in Evanston.

Rob Harrington, a Scout.com national analyst, praised his versatility and said: "He scores well around the glass" while guarding the four position successfully.

Other recently reported targets for NU include Aaron Falzon and Kipper Nichols. The ‘Cats, of course, look to build frontcourt depth with their future at guard already in place.

Much could ride on the potential transfer addition of Gabe Levin.

We'll have more on the Northwestern basketball recruiting situation heading into July evaluation periods.
