Many schools interested in Clarke

Combo forward Chris Clarke is finding himself in demand.

High-motor is the best adjective to describe Virginia Beach (Va.) Cape Henry forward Chris Clarke. The 6-foot-5 and 190 pound Clarke plays as hard as any prospect in the country and also brings a lot of versatility to the floor, and right now his recruitment is going well.

Running with Boo Williams on the AAU circuit, Clarke is on one of the better teams in the country, and he plays a key role.

"On our team I am supposed to be a lockdown defender so that is what I try to do," said Clarke.

With that schools such as Tennessee, Maryland, Creighton, Iowa State, Kansas State, Virginia Commonwealth, Minnesota, and Virginia Tech have all issued Clarke scholarship offers.

The latest offer came from the Volunteers, and Clarke was happy to get that offer.

"I don't know too much about them, but they say they love my versatility and they say they love my defensive intensity," said Clarke of Tennessee.

Minnesota is a school that has also offered, and though he had no interaction with the coaches, Clarke made a visit to the campus when his team was in Minneapolis for the Nike EYBL event.

"It looked like a nice campus. I didn't really get to see the facilities that closely, but it is seemed like a nice place," said Clarke of the Gophers.

Another school that has been involved with Clarke for a while is Maryland. The Terrapins have been working hard in this recruitment, and Clarke likes what he sees from the Big Ten school.

"I have visited campus for a game and it looks like a good team which plays up tempo and I think they are a good school," explained Clarke of Maryland.

For now there is no specific timeframe for when Clarke would like to announce, but he does know what he is looking for in a school.

"I am looking for a team that plays up tempo and a place that I have a good relationship with the coaching staff," said Clarke.

Currently Clarke is considered a three-star prospect.
