Henson holds six offers

Six schools have offered 2016 forward Daron Henson. The rising junior breaks down his recruitment.

One of the better power forwards out west in 2016 is 6-foot-8, 180-pound Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany face-up four Daron Henson.

A good athlete with a nice frame that has a big weapon in his outside shot, Henson is working on adding to his game from there.

"I'm starting to put the ball on the floor better but I still need to work on that," Henson said. "I feel like I'm shooting the ball better. I want to keep working on putting the ball on the floor and becoming a complete three."

USC, Tulsa, UTEP, Northern Arizona, Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge have offered Henson, with California and Oregon State amongst the schools showing interest.

He grew up a fan of a program further east.

"I liked Syracuse growing up because of their length and athleticism," Henson said.

How much location will play a role in his recruitment remains to be seen, but there are a couple other factors that Henson will be looking at.

"I'm not sure if I want to stay close to home yet," he said. "I want to play for someone I have a relationship with, where I can go and they can get me ready for the next level."

In a perfect world, Henson won't drag out his recruitment.

"I want to make a decision early, before my senior season," Henson said.
