Henderson, Nev., Findlay Prep School big man Horace Spencer raised some eyebrows earlier in the week at the NBA Players Association top 100 camp when he said he could see himself going to the University of Louisville.
"I've been talking a lot to coach (Kenny) Johnson and have built a good relationship," Spencer said. "I like how they play, the way they get up and down the floor. I've been hearing more from them and kind of want to go there."
The 6-foot-8, 190-pound Spencer, who ranks as the No. 53 prospect in the Class of 2015 according to Scout.com, said later in the week that he's hoping to visit U of L soon.Spencer said his dad has been working on setting up a visit and he "really wants to see" what the U of L campus and facilities are like, along with meeting coach Rick Pitino.
"He's one of the top five coaches in the game," Spencer said. "I want to visit there."
Spencer has offers from Cincinnati, UNLV, Georgia, and Seton Hall and others while also hearing from Kansas State, Auburn, Purdue and others. He said he's also hoping to make visits to Purdue and Auburn this summer.
Spencer is originally from Philadelphia and transferred to Findlay prior to last season.
Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Spencer.
