Giddens coming down home stretch

It is coming down to crunch time for Daniel Giddens and his college decision.

It is getting down to decision time for four-star center Daniel Giddens. The Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler standout has had a solid spring with Each 1 Teach 1, and now he is about to make his college decision.

At 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds, Giddens is one of the most physically imposing prospects in the class of 2015. The athletic center recently attended the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp and feels that he learned a lot.

"It was a blessing to be at the NBA Camp," said Giddens. "It was great to learn from great coaches and to compete against the top 100 kids in America. It was just an honor to be there."

He continued, "I have definitely learned to use my body better. I have learned new ways to get position in the post, and the coaches taught me new ways to score around the rim."

On July 4 Giddens will make his college commitment. He has narrowed his list to Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Indiana, and Kansas. For Giddens the next few weeks will be intense.

"I am definitely praying a lot and making sure I find the best fit for me and the school that I want to go to," said Giddens of the process him and his family will go through.

When it comes to making the decision and picking the school, Giddens says that three things will be the most important to him.

"First thing is the alumni base," explained Giddens. "That is something that is very big for me so I can have the best opportunity for success after basketball. After that it is who can help develop me for the next level, and thirdly I want to major in marketing so I want to go to a place with a great business school."

Once he does make his decision, Giddens says it will be a major sense of relief.

"I just feel like I can get back to playing and enjoying the game," said Giddens. "I will know who will be my coach and who will be my support system so that will be good."
