Harris ready for big July

Three-star guard Kain Harris made a recent unofficial visit, and now he is ready for a big July.

Now enrolled at Chicago (Ill.) St. Rita, Kain Harris is comfortable and ready for a big July. After a solid spring the 6-foot-3 tough scoring guard is ready to really take his game to another level, and continues to get solid recruiting interest.

"The spring went decent," said Harris. "With Meanstreets we struggled on the EYBL, but I think I played fairly well, and we are just looking to come back strong in July."

He continued, "My game is coming around pretty good. I have been working out every day with my trainer and now we are working out with my high school, so things are going pretty good."

Recruiting wise Harris is getting a significant amount of interest, and could receive more offers following the July evaluation period.

"I am hearing from Creighton, Bradley, South Carolina, Butler, and a couple of other schools," said Harris.

Recently Harris visited Butler, and he came away impressed with the Big East program.

"I went down there and visited the campus," noted Harris. "I toured the campus, talked to the coaches, and they told me I am a main priority for them. I know they are going to be evaluating me in July and see how I progress."

Another Big East school that has been showing him significant attention is Creighton. The Bluejays have made him a priority for a while, and Harris has a good relationship with the coaches.

"I have a pretty good relationship with the coaches there," noted Harris. "They were my first in-home visit and they were watching me my entire junior year. I have a good relationship with them and they are good people. Coach (Greg) McDermott is a really good coach."

Harris did note that his transfer from Morgan Park to St. Rita is complete, and that he will be attending that school going forward.

Currently Harris is viewed as a three-star prospect.
