Stanford adds Sheffield
Academics and athletics were always going to be major factors in the college decision of Marcus Sheffield. The four-star wing selected the Cardinal just hours before the start of the July evaluation period giving Stanford an excellent start to their 2015 class. “I committed to Stanford today,” said Sheffield. “I am just blessed and I feel that it is the right place for me.” At 6-foot-5 with good length, solid athleticism, and a high level shooting stroke, Sheffield brings versatility and offensive talent to the Stanford roster. Overall Sheffield feels it is the perfect fit for him. “I just felt like it was a good system for me, I like the coaches, and the school was great when I visited,” said Sheffield. “This was just the right time for me to commit. Along with Stanford, schools such as Houston, VCU, Kansas State, and Clemson were recruiting Sheffield quite hard. In the end though, Sheffield loved the combination of elite academics and high level basketball that the Cardinal could provide. Currently Sheffield is the No. 14 small forward and the No. 68 prospect overall in the class of 2015.
