2016 Intro: Dontay Bassett
The Oakland Rebels have an intriguing power forward out of San Leandro (Calif.) in Dontay Bassett. The 6-foot-8, 175-pound 2016 prospect has good size and length, is capable of hitting jumpers from the elbow, can score on the offensive glass, plays hard, has some back to the basket game and is a pretty good athlete. "I can crash the boards, run the floor, be a post player and knock down the midrange jumper," Bassett said. "I'm trying to work on my ball handling, my mental game and my post moves." Two schools have shown Bassett attention already. "I've heard from California and Northern Arizona," he said. Because it's so early into his recruitment, Bassett isn't particular about what he's looking for in a school. "I just want to go to a D-I school with a good basketball background," he said.
