Simmons talks new offers
There is no doubt that five-star Kobi Simmons is one of the elite guards in the class of 2016. With good size, athleticism, and an incredible ability to score, Simmons has been racking up offers and putting on a show for college coaches. “Things are going good,” said Simmons of the summer. “I think I have been playing well, and as a team we were the top team in our division on the adidas circuit so that means we are guaranteed an ESPN game in Vegas, so things are going pretty well.” Simmons shined in a big way at the adidas Unrivaled Camp as well as the NY2LA Summer Jam, and says that things continue to progress with his game. “I was the leading scorer in Chicago and picked up quite a few offers, and coaches told me I played pretty well, so I was happy with my play there,” said Simmons. Schools such as Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Providence, USC, and Virginia had all offered Simmons a while ago, and recently he picked up offers from Kansas and Ohio State. Not only did Kansas offer, but Simmons says that he and his family have a visit set up to see the school. “I like Kansas a lot,” said Simmons. “My mom and I are going up there for their Jayhawk Madness event in October, so I will get to see everything there.” Simmons has some ties to the state of Ohio, so getting an offer from the Buckeyes was also big for him. “It was crazy,” said Simmons of the Ohio State offer. “To have a school like Ohio State offer was a good accomplishment. My dad is from Cincinnati so he liked me getting the offer, and said we definitely have to make a visit.” For now Simmons is in no hurry to make a college decision and says he is just looking at the entire school and going through the process before thinking of a commitment. “I am looking at academics, the coaches, the players, the environment, and just how I will fit in at the schools,” said Simmons.
