Burns goes with Notre Dame
Elijah Burns, a 6-foot-7 power forward, committed to Mike Brey and his staff at Notre Dame this past weekend. Burns, a three-star recruit, confirmed the commitment to news to Scout.com. “Academically in my eyes it was hard to pass up along with basketball,” Burns told Scout.com. “Also the degree means a lot when I am done with college.” Burns had plenty of college interest. He had picked up scholarship offers from Seton Hall, Temple, VCU and George Washington. There were other schools like Georgetown and Marquette evaluating him as well. A standout at Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy, Burns is known for his energy and effort, according to Scout.com analyst Brian Snow. “He is a slightly undersized power forward with a good skill level and solid athleticism,” Snow said. Notre Dame now has a pair of commits in the 2015 class. Shooter Matt Ryan pledged to Notre Dame last week.
