One visit set for Puryear

Skilled forward Kevin Puryear has one visit set, and he is thinking about others.

Power forward Kevin Puryear had a very strong close to his July running with KC Run GMC. The 6-foot-7 forward showed his improved explosion off the floor and high skill level. Now his recruitment is beginning to pick up and already one visit is set.

“My summer went very well. In July I played real well and as a team we have did well,” said Puryear.

He continued, “I am working on my ball handling, shooting, being strong on the block, and just overall being a better basketball player.”

In terms of his recruitment, things have been all over the board with Puryear, and he is hearing from numerous schools.

“I have been talking to Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, San Diego, Murray State, and a few others,” said Puryear.

One visit is set up for Puryear, and it will be out to the West Coast.

“I know for sure I am taking a visit to San Diego on September 4,” said Puryear. “I want to see the campus. I have heard it is a really nice place, and I think that is somewhere I can go and make an impact.”

One school that Puryear has already visited and has a lot of interest in is Nebraska. The Huskers tracked Puryear quite a bit in July, and he likes what the Big Ten school has to offer.

“I took an unofficial visit there in June, and I liked it a lot,” explained Puryear. “Coach (Tim) Miles is a great guy, and he told me if I come in and play hard that I could contribute right away.”

Missouri hasn’t yet offered Puryear, but they have made it clear they want to lock down the top talent in the state, and he fits that description.

“They like me a lot, and how hard I play,” said Puryear of the Tigers. “Also they think I am versatile and they are big on keeping Missouri talent in Missouri, so I like that and they said they will be watching me all month long.”

Puryear currently says he has no specific timetable for his decision.
