Green chooses Arizona State

Dominic Green committed to Arizona State, giving the Sun Devils a high major shooter.

Arizona State's 2015 recruiting class got off to a good start on Thursday.

Dominic Green, a 6-foot-6, 175-pound small forward from Renton (Wash.) Hazen, pledged to the Sun Devils.

The Arizona State coaching staff played a big role in Green's commitment.

"I really like Herb Sendek and Stan Johnson," said Green. "I really like Arizona State and how they play on offense. From what I know about the school, I really like it.

"Herb is a great coach and I want to get better as player and he's willing to help get me where I want to be."

A late bloomer, Green entered July almost completely off the radar but had a big week in Las Vegas playing for the Northwest Panthers, proving himself as a legitimate high major prospect.

"At first I thought I might have to go mid or low major but once I got the opportunity in July I wanted to take advantage of it," Green said.

Green has good size for the position, very long arms and a terrific stroke; he can knock down three-pointers off the catch and pull and hit midrange jumpers. He's still slight physically and his game will only improve with added strength.

He feels he fits into Arizona State's system.

"They play up tempo and shoot a lot of threes," Green said. "I'm a great shooter and can play many different positions. I'll help out the team right away."
