Michigan strikes early with Teske
Things got started off right for the Michigan Wolverines in the 2016 class on Thursday night with the pledge of Jon Teske. The Medina (Ohio) native decided to pick the Wolverines a few days after visiting the school. "It is close to home and a top notch program with a top notch coaching staff," said Teske's father. "I have a lot of family, friends, and relatives in the state of Michigan. Even though we live in Ohio, he grew up some in Michigan so he has a strong pull back to the state." The decision to pick Michigan came over the Ohio State Buckeyes and a host of other programs. In the end it was a combination of athletics and academics that led Teske to the Wolverines. "Michigan recruited him very, very hard and they have one of the top business schools and Jon wants to major in business or accounting," explained the elder Teske. "Also the style of play is very good for him. Jon isn’t really a low post banger, and they love his ability to play in the high post and he has a nice shot from the elbow so he fits in to how they play well." After seeing both what Michigan and Ohio State had to offer throughout the process, Teske and his family took a recent visit to Ann Arbor and that sealed the deal for his commitment. "I think we got some dedicated time with the coaching staff and did a more in-depth tour of the facilities so that pretty much was the clincher," said Teske. Currently Teske is seen as the No. 15 center in the class of 2016 and he is the first commitment for Michigan in the class.
