Purifoy picks Auburn

Bruce Pearl and Auburn picked up a four-star recruit on Friday. Danjel Purifoy picked the Tigers at the Elite 24 festivities.

On Thursday following an Elite 24 practice session, Danjel Purifoy told Scout.com that Auburn was the leader in his recruitment.

Just a day later, Purifoy opted to commit to Auburn during the Elite 24 Dunk Contest. Purifoy took a visit to Auburn during the summer and that trip seemed to have pushed him in this direction.

“I had a visit during the summer on their campus,” Purifoy told Scout.com on Thursday prior to his announcement. “It was a great visit. I liked it.”

“Coach Pearl, I haven’t gotten to talk to him yet, but the assistants, I’ve talked to all of them,” Purifoy added. “I went to the school and worked out there and I liked it.”

A 6-foot-7 wing, played for Winfred Jordan's Atlanta Xpress team this spring and summer. He's a strong, aggressive driver that plays with toughness and has potential as a perimeter defender.

Purifoy is currently ranked No. 57 overall and as the No. 11 wing in the 2015 class. He is Auburn's first verbal commitment of the 2015 recruiting class.
