Auburn lands another pledge
The Auburn Tigers got good news on Friday night when they landed the commitment of four-star Danjel Purifoy, and they continued their big weekend on Sunday with the pledge of Horace Spencer. Spencer is a native of Philadelphia who attends Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep, and at 6-foot-8 with big time athleticism and long arms, is one of the higher upside kids in the class of 2015. The No. 60 overall prospect in the class, Spencer started his official visit overnight on Saturday into Sunday just as Bruce Pearl got off of his sanctions. After meeting with Pearl at 12:01 a.m., Spencer figured that Auburn was the right place for him and issued his commitment. "Horace loved everything from the school, coaches, environment, the style they play, and the weight rooms," said Spencer's father about his son's commitment to the school. This is a huge pledge for the Tigers because Spencer is someone who likely can play either the power forward or center spot, and has the athleticism and length necessary to come in and play right away for what should be a radically revamped Auburn roster. Spencer's versatility fits in well with what Pearl had in his time at Tennessee, and should be able to come in and make an immediate impact for the Tigers.
