Eubanks couldn't wait, pops for Oregon State
Drew Eubanks was set to visit Oregon State this coming weekend, but he couldn’t wait any longer. Scout.com’s No. 96 ranked recruit went ahead and committed to Wayne Tinkle and his staff at Oregon State on Tuesday. Eubanks confirmed the news to Scout.com. “I just decided I wanted to commit right now,” Eubanks told Scout.com. “I know I’m visiting, but I was ready. I just wanted to do it.” “It just felt like the best of both worlds for me,” Eubanks added. “I’ll be able to play basketball and baseball there. They have what I want to study and I think we will be really good in a couple of years with the 2015 class that we are getting. Stephen Thompson Jr. and Tres Tinkle, who are sons of the coaches on staff, and guard Derrick Bruce are expected to visit Oregon State with Eubanks this coming weekend. “I’ve only known them for four or five months now,” he said of the Oregon State staff. “We’ve gotten close and have gotten to know each other a lot better.” “I think we can do something special there,” Eubanks said. Eubanks, a four-star prospect, was one of the surprises of July. Playing with Northwest Xpress, Eubanks appeared to be a late bloomer with impressive mobility, athleticism and length.
