Ahmad is down to five
The recruitment of four-star power forward Esa Ahmad continues to move along, and on Thursday he decided to make a major cut to his list. The 6-foot-8 forward decided to narrow his list down to five schools. “Esa has thought about things and his five schools are Ohio State, Maryland, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Oregon,” said Ahmad’s father Ibby. This is a big cut as schools such as Michigan State and Tulane were seen as making a late run for the four-star forward who is one of the most skilled players in the Midwest. Recruiting wise Ahmad has a tentative visit set with Wisconsin for September 20, and is scheduled to make a visit to Maryland this upcoming weekend. Also he has been to Ohio State and West Virginia numerous times on unofficial visits. At this point there is no word on when a visit make take place with Oregon. At this point a decision is expected roughly at the end of September or early October for Ahmad as he winds down his potential visit process. Currently Ahmad is seen as the No. 48 player overall and the No. 8 power forward in the class of 2015.
