Watson makes his pick
The Nebraska Cornhuskers saw a lot of work payoff on Monday when they landed the commitment of four-star point guard Glynn Watson. The Westchester (Ill.) St. Joseph’s standout selected the Huskers following an official visit to the school. It was pretty clear coming into the weekend that it would either be Creighton or Nebraska for Watson. Though Tennessee was also on his list, Watson seemed focused on those two schools, and the Cornhuskers had the first shot. That first visit proved to be important as Watson decided to pick Nebraska on his official visit becoming one of the highest rated prospects to pick the school in recent memory. According to Watson he just felt very comfortable with everything about the Nebraska program. "I felt like it was the right place for me," explained Watson. "It is a school that is on the rise and the coaching staff is great. I liked the players a lot, and I feel the staff and players will get me better every day, and I can be successful there." The 5-foot-11 point guard is ranked No. 62 overall and is the No. 6 point guard in the class of 2015. This is huge for the Cornhuskers who were looking for a solid pass first point guard who could run the show and get others involved while being a threat himself. In fact, Watson says the talent on the Nebraska roster is one of the major reasons why he chose the program. "I think my style of play fits well," explained Watson. "I can bring my presence on the court and run the team, and just being out there I think I can really help. They have good players on the wing already, and that is big for me. I think that they can make it easier for me, I can make it easier for them." Watson is the second commitment for Nebraska in the class. He joins three-star pledge Michael Jacobson.
